Canadians demonstrate for climate change agreement

<div><p>Hundreds of demonstrators in six major Canadian cities held street marches Saturday to demand global warming solutions from world leaders attending the climate change summit in Copenhagen.</p><p>In Montreal, several hundred protesters gathered in the center of the city and called on world governments to deal quickly and firmly with climate-change. They urged Canada to join the international effort.</p><p>"Canadians, like the majority of their lawmakers, want Canada to join Europe in massively cutting our greenhouse gases emissions," Quebec Network of environmentalist official Arthur Sandborn said in a statement read on television.</p><p>"It's crucial we change our way of doing business, the way we live and consume. Everybody is part of the problem, but also part of the solutions," he added.</p><p>Demonstrations were also held in Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa, Halifax and Quebec.</p><p>"Right now, everything is still possible... that's what the people came here to say today," said Greenpeace Canada spokeswoman Melissa Filion.</p><p>Some 350 events are planned this weekend throughout Canada to press world governments into action over global warming.</p><img src="http://admatch-syndication.mochila.com/images/ad.gif?aid=65316576&bid=informcom" /></div><div id="copyright"><div>
